Board Meeting Summary - November

The High Prairie School Division Board of Trustees met on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 for their regularly scheduled meeting. 

Trustees received a delegation from MNP LLP to present the division's audited financial statement for the 2024-25 school year. Brandon Gagnon, CPA from MNP LLP, presented the audited financial statement to the Board of Trustees.

Superintendent Marran presented the preliminary Annual Education Results Report (AERR) results. These outlined growth in key areas and showed the division narrowing the gap between the division and the provincial results.

Trustees discussed the Georges P. Vanier Modernization project and provided updates from recent meetings with the architects. Plans for another meeting with the community will take place in the new year once the division has additional information to share with families, students, and staff.

Superintendent Marran provided an update on the Educational Services Agreements (ESAs) that the division has been working on. 

Deputy Superintendent Heckbert presented the next agenda item, the Classroom Complexity Survey update. Trustees discussed the survey and the various information that was collected.

Trustee Skrepnek spoke to the next item, GST refunds to school boards. Trustee Skrepnek spoke on her conversations with MLA Todd Loewen on the topic and seeking to understand the rationale for differences in GST exemption for school divisions as compared to municipalities.

Chair McGregor noted that a meeting date is needed for the board's advocacy committee, and a date was set. 

Trustee Henkel discussed the intended closure of the Fairview College Campus. Trustees discussed options to advocate for the campus remaining open for students.

Trustees received and approved the 2024-25 audited financial statement from MNP LLP.

Trustees received the Superintendent's Report, Finance Report, Trustee Reports, and Standing Committee Reports.
