December News
December is always such a short month and flies by quickly. We managed to have some great things happen in that short period of time. Our robotics club has been working through a series of challenges to have the chance to take a LEGO Mindstorm EV3 kit home to build and code their very own robot for competition. From this point approx. 10 students will be on the Eagle’s Robotics Team and practice skills, elements of coding and strategy robot battling. We cannot wait to see the creations that the students come up with after the Winter break. The Great LEGO Building Contest has come to an end. There were so many creative entries! It was a hard task to choose the top 4 but class 6A was up for the challenge. Four winners were declared and took home LEGO prizes. The real win was that many non perishable food items were collected to donate to the food bank. We are so proud of class 6A for using something fun to make a difference within our community.
The month ended with our spirit week. Each day we celebrated the season with a different theme and had a door decorating contest with some really great representations of holiday movies. The week also included, red and green day, festive hat and hair day, and holiday sweaters. Follow us on facebook for pictures of all the great doors and festivities. We ended the week with PJ's and breakfast day!
Moving into the new year we are all prepped and ready for a week of online at home learning. We will keep connecting with our students virtually and supporting their learning from a distance. We hope to be back in person as soon as possible as the school just is not the same without the smiling faces of our students.
Everyone here at EGW wants to wish all our Eagle families and safe a happy holiday and look forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
